Ok, fine. It's technically a trailer for the new Tron flick. DON"T CARE! It's just that good. Plus the new tron looks to be as visually stimulating as the original with a better story to boot.

For Your Enjoyment - Boney M.
Boney M, is a disco group aus Deutschland, specialized in doing disco covers, and novelty songs like this little joint. As a result their music has been sampled, chopped up, and used as the foundation for tons of house classics, including a huge hit off the MoS label back in the day, Sunny. If you can track down a copy of their music on wax, it's definitely worth the money.

Rythem is Rythem - The Strings of Life
The Strings of Life the definitive classic cut of House Music. It has everything that makes House Music great. In this Youtube video from FigFilm, Derrick May (AKA Rythem is Rythem) describes how he struck a cord with "The Strings of Life."
"... The mistake is that I did it to begin with, that was the mistake."'
Thanks for making the mistake.

Om Mangalam- Kambakkt Ishq
This movie looks whack, but the song is pretty off the hook.

Bit of tea with that?
British ryhmeslinger Kano brings a bit of hybrid track with "Hustler." Its one part British hip-hop, and two parts American Gangster Rap. I loved the video for "Huster's" play on gangster rap videos. You'll notice they are making music not drugs. There is also an interesting parallel in the videos use of drug business metaphors and the lyrical content of the song which seem to come together into an overall critique of the music industry. It's almost Mos Def like.
Its high grade dope, and these rhymes are addictive.

Matt and Kim
I'm not sure how they did this, or what it means, or if it all isn't just some attempt by the global nudist conspiracy to brainwash us out of our pants, but I like it. Its Matt and Kim's latest official music video, and its pretty cool.

Vampire Weekend
I've taken to buying CD's of late. One of my most recent purchases was Vampire Weekend's self titled cd. While I can't stop listening to the CD, its mostly because the album is scientifically engineered to seep into the brains of people like me. The album its self is a bit of a waste of money. While the singles and 1 or 2 other songs are extremely catchy the song writing is lack luster and at points songs seemed strapped together.
My first doubts about the album arose at the second song in the album,"Oxford Comma." In which the Columbia graduates bitch about how people who graduated from Oxford are pretentious assholes. Aside from this unintended irony. Other songs on the album fail to stand up. As I listened more closely I found that even songs that I really enjoyed, like "A-Punk" (pretty much the song of the summer if you asked me), had the same shoddy craftsmanship and air of pretension around them. If you listen to the the song you realize that the mix of A-Punk has the guitar line at the same level as the lead vocals, and if you listen closer you can hear the reason why. The singer can't quite maintain quality in the range in which he is singing. I really like pretentious music with insider references, but despite that this album was hard to relate to for a west coast state college grad like myself.
That said the album does have its high points. Both "A-punk" and "Mansford Roof" are extremely original, and very catchy. The albums love ballads such that they are have great turns of phrase even if in the end the short sighted construction can do them. Both "Bryn" and "Campus" are pretty cool songs, even if "Campus" leaves me feeling lost by the end, Bryn has my favorite line in the album. Despite its flaws the album is a load better then most of the stuff that's being put out right now.
The Guys over at sound opinion's on NPR have a buy, it burn it, trash it scale. Vampire weekend despite the hype, is a burn it.

Metric - Monster Hospital (Mstrkrft remix)

Hatiras - Space Invader
I just got back from a House night in Seattle at a club called Trinity. its a very cool club, I will probably post something more about it sometimes soonish.
This is a Music video from Hatiras. I had an oppertunity to interview Hatiras. He's a pretty cool guy, and lays do w i c k e d a w e s o m e sets. His producing is also what you might call really exceptional. One of my favorite records to drop is a compolation of tracks by him. It was a very good day when I bought the record. I also found the Mystery Mobile.
I think I've wasted enough of your time. Check out the video below. Its got lasers

Calvin Harris!
I found this when scraping around Youtube. I really hate posting Youtube video's on here too much because they really don't increase site traffic, but I had to put this one up. It’s a great video, a good song, and there is a party at my house.
So check it out.
It sorta has a LCD Sound System vibe to it, but it’s more British and slightly less awesome, but still rocking my sox right off.
