Audio Bullies - I'm in Love

I found this on Youtube. I was looking for Kill Bill a song off my new mix (to be posted on monday), and came across the Audio Bullies song My Baby Shot Me Down. Then after a quick search I found this video. One of my favorite songs from this album, and a great all around love song, I'm in Love is sure to brighten your day.

RIP Grams

My Grandmother past away over thanksgiving weekend so this will be my last post till Monday. I headed to the big NJ, and her funeral. I have been hired by a local station, which is pretty awesome I am no longer unemployed. Sweet! Also I posted two house core mixes one of which was my own offering, and after repeated listenings I know there are things that I could have done better, but it ain't half bad. so I feel pretty good, but the finality of my grandmothers absence hasn't really set in yet. I used to call her almost every day after school.

Anyway, check back in next week. I will have a new mix up by the end of the week, and I will be posting charts for November. Charts, you remember those, right? Anyway, tune in next week viewers. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Love,
DJB

American Athlete - The disco blog that dances your socks off!

One of my favorite blogs to check out is American Athlete. Its a great disco blog run by a dj who spins at a lot of the best parties. I was extremely excited when I learned that the bloke who runs it is local. He posts up all sorts of amazing disco goodies, as well as info about parties in the Seattle area that he spins at.

You can check out TJ Gordon's myspace page, where there are also many fine examples of the tracks he has made as a producer. Oddly, enough they are all pretty tropical/latin sounding. I guess living in all this rain you just sort of develop a sunny disposition... yeah right.

Well check out American Athlete and let me know what you think.

HOUSECORE!?!

What is Housecore? Housecore is a little known of subgenera of house music which involves speeding house up to about 1.4 or 1.5 times its normal speed. It is as it sounds, amazing! Tito-Tito who I mentioned earlier for his drum and bass mix has been experimenting with Housecore for sometime now and this is his latest offering.

Eclipse - the work of Sean Pyerz

Sean Pyerz is sort of like Superman, a man with two Identities. By day he is a mild mannered student and clerk, by night a kick ass DJ and producer. Instead of being able to fly and stop bullets, he has the even more amazing ability to turn out house tracks with a slightly tropical feel. Its only a slight tinge, like a slice of orange in your rum and coke, but damn it tastes so good.

No, these aren’t your modern deep soothing lounge tracks. These are the sort of tropical bangers that get your feet moving on the floor. I would describe his current style as a slightly lighter move on the old disco house, but with an influence from todays bangers. His tracks definately aren't meant to placate you while you talk to trendy twenty somethings, while sipping overpriced drinks under a fake palm tree.

Anyway however you describe Sean Pyerz, his music is pretty awesome. It must be something in the water down there. Check out his myspace page here, because this kid has talent and a half so you will want to get a chance to see him drop the wax when he drops by your area.
