2007 - T.H.E. Wrap up

Well, we’ve only been around for 4 months but I’ll write one of these anyway.

So, it was big year for The House Effect. In August we came. Unfortunately while October was a boom month, the start of November was lacking, seriously but thing recovered there at the end. December has been good, and we have some quality stuff posted as a result. In summation Effected, the state of the site is strong, and we are ready to head into the future.

Here are my favorite posts from 2007

Tito-Tito’s Drum and Bass mix
Tito’s drum and bass mix was amazing. I woke up to it the other day, and boy did it get me up. It features some great Tracks, and super amazing dj skills by Titox2.

History of House Music
There’s a cool Frankie Knuckles mix linked at the bottom. As an added benefit you get education.

DJ Bubbles’ Computer fun
I made two mixes on my computer but Computronic was my favorite. I love the tracks, and the mixing is spot. It was fun to make and fun to listen to.

Matt Soda
He’s my boy, and this track kicks ass.

Sean Pyerz’s December Mix
Other then Bloghouse and New Rave, Sean Pyerz is my favorite new discovery of 2007. Check out his mix. He rocks!

Keep checking for updates in 2008, I'll totally have a new mix up in the next 2 weeks.

Funkieness personified

Ok, Funkieness isn't a word. But I'm good at wordifying things. Anyway, I had to park up on capital hill, and came across this building. Someone should rent a flat, and or office space here and make Funke house.

Sean Pyerz - December Mix

Homeboy Sean Pyerz has just hooked us up with a new mix. I gave it a listen earlier and it sounds pretty awesome. It's a bit different then his track I posted earlier. This mix is almost pure electro. Its pretty bangin', so DL the mix and give it a listen.

Bubbles was here!

Normally I am not a fan of throwing up tags on the sides of whatever, but this wall just screamed to me. It was yelling for me to put a hot pink DJB right on it. So I did.

Guess who?

The perfect drink

Ok, it's a little on the not so manly side, but its damn good.
Take one shot of Bailey's Irish Cream, a glass of Ice and some Silk Chocolate Soy Milk. Then:

1) Add shot of Bailey's to glass with Ice
2) Add Silk to glass of Bailey's on the rocks
3) Enjoy

If orgasms where like pure chocolate, they would taste like this.

Also I think this would work in Smoothie/Soy Shake form.

The Streets!

I <3 Youtube. I went on there to find Blinded by the Lights and post of that music video. It’s my favorite of A Grand Don't Come for Free. A Grand is the Streets best album and after watching this music video, and listening to the last Streets album I wonder if the Streets can ever make an album as good as that one.

Its not that the streets aren't talented its just that as this music video shows, Mike Skinner's lenses is most brilliant when turned in word. As the last album shows right now that light is shined on an awkward celebrity, someone who's blown up when they weren't quite ready for it. Skinners talent is still there, but it's not focused on things that are marketable or even pleasant to listen to. This video is pretty cool. The rhymes over the beats work well. The singing not so much, but who cares. Where the video above falters is in subject mater, it's not the whit of the first album, or the intense narrative and introspection of A Grand.

Either way the video above does provide an interesting light on the creative process of Mike Skinner, where he is now, and where he has the potential to be. As such it's worth watching.

Fixed Link

So, I made this over the weekend in between doing family stuff. Once again I returned to the majesty of technology in making this mix. It’s a billion and one times better then the last mix I posted on here. That's good because every time, you put something else you want it to either be better, or be a growth opportunity.

I will put up charts tomorrow, or later today, whatever the case may be.
